Annual Arizona Military Vehicle Show 2012 (Formerly Papago) After 20 years at the Papago park area National Guard location -52nd Street, we've moved the whole deal to the Peoria Sports Complex at 16101 North 83rd Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85382. This is in the North West valley, near Bell Road and the West sdie curve of the 101. Our 21st show hopes to be bigger and better than the last. Many many many privately owned military vehicles of all nations and types parked for you to browse and take photos. Vendors and food. Public invited to bring their own military vehicles for show. Meet new people into heavy machines. Find out about future Phoenix area MV trail rides, camp outs, displays and picnics. If you like military vehicles, you will enjoy this event. Crossroads of the West Gun Show Thursday 01DEC 11 - Small Arms Review Gun Show, State Fairgrounds. Entrances are at McDowell and 17th Ave or 19th Ave and Monte Vista Road (South of Encanto and North of McDowell). We are exhibitors in front of the SAR building at the show this weekend. We need to set vehicles around noon on Thursday, no more just drive up on Saturday. You will get to wander about as dealers are setting up their tables at that time. Drivers will get a pass for the public show which is on FRI, SAT and SUN. If you can not make it Thursday, you have to arrive before the public on Friday 02DEC11. Sandy Shoot Over the weekend- Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Largest machine-gun shoot in the US. Some of the club members are going to this shoot. Expect to pay the regular $25 for a spectator pass. Event is in a remote section of 4000 foot elevation desert approx 80 miles north of Wickenburg, off Highway 93 just north of mile marker 111. Statehood Centennial (Part 1-3) Prescott Prescott, capital of the Arizona Territory after Ft. Whipple, hosts a weekend - Friday, Saturday, Sunday celebration that covers the whole town. Jim Monroe of the Mesa Veteran's Parade Association, needs 10 MV's of US manufacture for display. Check with club officers for open slots.

Young Marines Car Wash Fund Raiser, Saturday, 30 JULY Military vehicles have been requested for display at 35th Avenue and Bell Road at the Carl's Jr. Restaurant 9AM to 2PM. This is a fund rasier for the Firebird Young Marines to attend the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Firebird YM's have been invited to send a color guard and support members to the remembrance ceremonies. Please bring your MV's as a display attraction to the Carl's Jr Restaurant at 0900 hrs to about 1400 hrs on Saturday.

- Memorial Day Display - Monday Military vehicles have been requested for display at Greenwood Memory Lawn - 719 North 27th Ave Phx AZ 85009 at 0800-0830. Service starts at 0900... we don't need you loud and late. If it's 5 minutes till 0900, just forget it. Event runs to about noon or when we're done. Site is south of I-10, north of Van Buren, east of 27th Ave and West of the Black Canyon frontage to I-17. Last year I got entrance from the frontage road. I-17 - Exit McDowell, south on frontage road (across McDowell), turn into Greenwood about halfway in-between McDowell and Van Buren. You'll have to navigate the roads inside of Greenwood on your own. We don't have clear directions. Look for all the other trucks or locate the tent for the service and stand by that area until instructed to park elsewhere. Click map to load a larger map. Annual Memorial Day Parade - Saturday Saturday 0615 for staging judging at 0715, parade starts at 0830. Jerry reports this event is a small, 2 block parade that does a u-turn and comes back to the start point, but the entire town of Surprise shows up to watch. Hi concentration of enthusiastic public. Be advised last time large trucks had to back up to make the u-turn. Stage area (0700 hrs) on Paradise Lane on the East side of Bullard. - The parade (0830 hrs) will start at Paradise Lane and Bullard Ave. It will go South on Bullard to Tierra Buena then come back up to Paradise.
