Buckeye Veterans Day Parade

Saturday, November 7th, 2015 The AMVCC is looking for someone to co-ordinate this event. We have been invited by Jeff Schwartz of the Buckeye Air Fair on behalf of Myra Curtis, "Community Engagement Manager for the City of Buckeye contacted me recently about having some of the Historical Military groups that have participated in the Buckeye Air Fair, join Buckeye in celebrating Veterans Day on Saturday, November 7th. The celebration will begin with a one mile parade with a Community Yard Sale at the end of the parade route. I thought that some of your groups with vehicles like Hans Lauridsen’s Aviation Museum, Tuskegee Airmen Motorcycle Club, and Arizona Military Collectors Club could partner with some of the groups such as the Archer-Ragsdale Arizona Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, American Aviation Historical Society, American Rosie the Riveter Association, 101st Airborne Reeneactors, and the William Butler Family for the parade. Also, there are opportunities for booths at the yard sale, where the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Daughters of the American Revolution, National Guard, etc., will have booths providing information about their organizations. In addition, there will be a few smaller displays from the museum. We are working to secure the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Arizona Band, who would play patriotic music to the crowd, after the parade." Contact Myra Curtis for further information mcurtis@buckeyeaz.gov or 623-349-6322 The City would welcome your participation in this, the first ever Veterans Day Parade in Buckeye. As of late September, no one has come forward to organize this activity. Contact club officers.
